RECIPES TO MAKE WITH TODDLERS
Apple Crisp Recipe
This Fooblie family recipe is awesome because it is forgiving (you can’t mess it up) and there are many ways to get your little ones involved.
Between us adults, your little one will try apples two ways (try raw and baked) and feel the ownership that comes with making something. These are two strategies proven to prevent and manage picky eating. Oh and it’s delicious! It’s a win-win-win.
Wash your hands
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Chop 6 apples. Granny Smith is best, but use whatever.
Measure out the crisp filling ingredients.
1/3 Cup Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice (or OJ)
Mix filling ingredients together.
Grease the 8 x 8 baking dish with butter.
Chop 1 cup butter into small pieces.
Smash together the topping ingredients.
1/2 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar
2 Cups Oats (Quick Cooking or Old Fashioned)
1 Cup Butter
