RECIPES TO MAKE WITH TODDLERS
Carrot Cookie Recipe
Before you start cooking let your kids play with carrots. How? Take a piece of paper and with a black marker draw a bubble letter capital and lower case C. Cut up some carrots in different shapes. You want to cut really thin slices and thin matchsticks for toddlers due to choking. Finely grate raw carrots for those less than 2.
Fill in the C with carrots! Snack on them as you play with them. Then, use them in the recipe below!

- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ tsp of ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp of ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ cup of finely chopped pecans
- 1 egg (beat)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup carrots, about 2 medium carrots, finely grated or finely chopped (we used a food processor)
- 2 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
Mix dry ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3/4 cup whole grain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ tsp of ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp of ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ cup of finely chopped pecans
Mix wet ingredients
- 1 egg (beat)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup carrots, about 2 medium carrots, finely grated or finely chopped (we used a food processor)
- 2 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
Combine wet and dry ingredients and mix
Roll balls and space 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking tray
Pro tip: toddlers aren’t the most coordinated at rolling balls (though kids 4+ are!), but they will be good at smashing them down.
Bake for 15 mins or until edges are browned
Enjoy with milk or tea
